Introduction. Sunday 22 saw the 145th tasting of the Circulo de Vino de Pedralba, in which we presented the’ Institutional Wines’ on behalf of Vinos DO Utiel-Requena. The selection this year is all the more important because Requena has been chosen as the European City of Wine 2026. The DO presented the wines to the press back on 30 January. Bocopa, the Petrer based bodega, celebrates its 30th anniversary this year. 1987 was the year that saw several small bodegas in DO Alicante pool their resources to improve their marketing prospects and production techniques and volumes. The new bodega brought together some 8000 hectares of vines, mostly in the Vinalopó and  La Marina Alta together with 1800 vineyard owners.
